River - Test Footage
This is the test footage that we created for our film. We wanted to test a number of shots to see if they were doable.
The first shot that we tested was 'the fall that doesn't hurt'. The main thing we wanted to test in this shot was whether it would actually look good, or whether it would look obviously faked. I think that it actually looked good in this and would be suitable to be used in our final film.
The next shot we tried was Kevin looking back at his dead body. Really what we were testing here was whether it was actually feasible, given that we had no double for Kevin. Again, I think this worked well. Despite the continuity errors in this test footage, I think that this shot looked good.
The next thing we tried was the focus pull. This took several attempts, as we tried using different methods. The first one we tried was with my Pixel 2 phone camera, with some more blur added in post-production. This worked well, however the next shot with the proper camera looked like a more smooth transition.
